PIMS - SALES SERVICE PROCESSING PIMS is fully integrated. Virtually any module can be accessed by an authorized user subject to security protocol, from any location at any time. Modules most frequently accessed by the Sales Service Processing Staff are: Order Entry, Order Inquiry, Trade Accounting and Inventory. A brief description of these modules follows. Order Entry PIMS provides a simple yet highly efficient Order Entry. PIMS recalls preferences based on the client's past orders. It allocates sales orders to the block schedule according to the grades, due dates, transit times and tonnage required. Blocks are adjusted to accommodate demand within order entry (by those authorized) or as part of the regular block maintenance function. The block schedule may be reviewed along with orders already allocated and production tons available. When appropriate, PIMS notifies the scheduling staff that there is insufficient room in the block schedule for the order being slotted . Order commitments affected by changes to the block schedule are reported for rescheduling. Automatic pricing by price list or by specific customer can be posted. PIMS provides Export documents as required. Export orders can be entered in metric or US units with automatic conversion to tons and rolls, expressed in the appropriate unit dimensions for production and shipping documents. Centralized sales/service, billing and accounts receivable functions for multiple mills is accomplished utilizing communications between the central operations PIMS server and the mill servers. PIMS replicates order, production and shipping data and transmits this information instantaneously to central operations. The integrated block schedule can be viewed graphically as orders are entered. Each block is represented by a color coded bar, corresponding to the grade. Orders already allocated to the block can be viewed by clicking on the appropriate bar. PIMS will let you know when a block needs to be expanded to accommodate due dates. Comment areas can be used for trim notes, roll marks and shipping instructions with customer defaults available. Documents, including order confirmations, pro-forma invoices, bills of lading, and invoices, may be transmitted electronically and automatically via fax or email. EDI Interfaces are also an integral part of the PIMS operation.
